Rachel Bronstein is a New York-based jazz vocalist and pianist. A straight-ahead singer with a strong improvisational focus, her style draws on years collaborating with post-bop composers at Second Floor Music under Don Sickler. There, she workshopped and developed vocal music with artists such as Norman Simmons, Grachan Moncur III, Rahn Burton, and Kirk Nurock. She recorded regularly at Van Gelder Studio with engineer Rudy Van Gelder. Her singing was featured on the soundtrack of “The Taker,” which won Best Short Score at Other Worlds Austin. She resides in Brooklyn with her elderly dog.
